We do not collect your entries
Gentle Days does not send your journal, mood check-ins, or settings anywhere. We do not have accounts, a backend, analytics, advertising, cookies, or tracking scripts. We cannot see or recover what you write.
What your browser saves
Your journal entries, the draft you are writing, any selected prompt, mood check-ins with dates, and your theme preference are stored in localStorage in this browser on this device. These records are not synced by this site. The site also caches its public HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and icons with a service worker so it can open offline. The offline cache does not contain your journal or moods.
If storage is blocked or full, a notice appears. You can still read the site, but your entries or changes may not be saved. Clearing browser data, using a different browser, or using private browsing can remove or separate your saved data.
Your choices
You can view, edit, delete, and export journal entries on the Journal page. “Delete everything” on that page removes every saved journal entry and draft. Use “Delete mood check-ins” on Home to remove moods. To remove everything, including theme settings and the offline cache, clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
Downloaded exports are plain-text files on your device. Deleting entries on the site does not delete those files. Other people with access to this browser profile can read saved entries. Browser storage is not a password-protected vault; your browser or operating system may have its own backup features.
The journal support reminder
A small keyword check runs on your device as you type. If it finds certain words, it shows support contacts. Nothing about the check is separately recorded, reported, or sent anywhere. It does not monitor your safety or contact anyone. It can miss words or show a reminder that does not fit. Saving is never blocked by it.
Requests and hosting
Your browser requests this site’s public files from its host. We make no automatic requests to other hosts. A hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, requested pages, and request times, according to its own policies. Journal text and mood check-ins are not part of those requests.
When you choose an outside link
External support links leave this site. Calls, texts, email, and downloaded files open your device’s apps. Those services and apps have their own privacy practices. We do not load their content into this site.
Contact
There is no monitored email for this site, and nobody reads your entries. Use Get help for support now.
